Review of Far Cry 3
Graphical Textures of Far Cry 3: As expected, the graphical textures are really improved; from the scenery to the character-textures; When you blow up something (vehicles) you’ll see some very amazing fireworks!
Hunting/Gathering in For Cry 3: One of my favorite parts; for you to progress through, you’ll have to hunt different animals and combine the gatherings to make helpful items. Sharks too!
Driving: Let’s be honest, you’ll never buy this game for the driving mechanics but I can assure you that it’s pretty good and you won’t get bored/annoyed roaming around and getting shot at this beautiful tropical island.
Weapons: The weapon selection is immense; pistols, shot guns, machine guns and even snipers with various modifications.
Unpredictable: One of the best features of the game is that it’s very unpredictable. You won’t know when you’re getting into trouble.
Short Story of For Cry 3
The game starts like a movie, a group of teen-agers having epic fun on a beautiful tropical island. You and your friends are swimming, smiling and doing everything which people usually do. The sad part is that you’re actually watching all that on a video but trapped in a bamboo-made cage. Your kidnapper Vaas is a psycho-path and everything starts with a plan of escaping.
Side-missions: Apart from the main story, there are numerous activities which you’ll have to do. Climb radio towers to make your mini-map work properly. Clear outposts and hunt (sharks, leopards, dogs, tigers, bears etc.) to make medicines, weapons and gear.
In short, the game is pretty good and you’ll be really enjoying it. The only sad part is that the story runs pretty slow, you’ll have to do the side-quests and other things (upgrades) for it to progress. This is mainly the first half of the game and once you’ve done it, things will take a turn and the first half won’t really bore you. There are numerous things you’ll be collecting and always want to try (the weapons, the upgrades and the skills) you’ll be having a wallet to maintain, and these wallets will have a maximum capacity so you will have to upgrade them as well.
Far Cry 3 could have been a very strong contender to become the Game of the Year but only for what it started with. Later on, by doing the same things again and again you’ll be feeling a little bored and feel like wishing for all this to fast-forward. Still, it is one of the very best FPS games you’ll be playing and paying for.
